Event Specialist

Full Time, Hourly, Non-exempt, On-Site, Durham, NC. 

Do you enjoy hosting and/or planning events, meeting new people, and putting your creative skillset to use every day? American Party Rentals seeks an event specialist with excellent communication, customer service, and sales skills to join our team in Durham, NC.

American Party Rentals is a family-owned and operated business that began serving the Triangle community in 1989. Operating under the second generation of ownership for the last decade-plus, the APR team continuously strives to build upon APR’s reputation as a leader and innovator in the Triangle special event rental scene.

Key Expectations:

As an outgoing, energetic, friendly and engaging Event Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for both new and repeat clients. To be successful in this role, candidates should have strong communication skills and excellent organizational and time management capabilities. Everyday responsibilities include:

  • Generate rental quotes and enter rental reservations into Point of Rental software
  • Ensure the accuracy of rental reservations via consistent and clear communication with clients
  • Answer the phone in a courteous and professional manner
  • Assist customers with in-person design center appointments
  • Generate increased sales with existing clients
  • Develop relationships and build business with new clients
  • Assist in our social media marketing efforts.

The work will be fast paced, at times challenging, and most certainly rewarding.

Job Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in customer service and/or sales, 2+ years preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn job-specific software as needed
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • An interest in learning and growing your skill set to advance within the company
